The wine is also known as Südtiroler/Südtirol Vinschgau Sauvignon DOC.

Alto Adige Valle Venosta Sauvignon Riserva DOC is also available, with a mandatory aging period of 2 years, starting with October 1st of the harvesting year. The minimum alcohol content is 11.5%.

The dessert wine Alto Adige Valle Venosta Sauvignon Passito DOC and the late harvest Alto Adige Valle Venosta Sauvignon Vendemmia Tardiva DOC are made from the same grapes, which are dried before pressing. Both types range from semi-sweet to sweet, they are rich and harmonious. The Passito has an alcohol content of minimum 16%, while the Vendemmia Tardiva has an alcohol content of just 13.5%.

Both types have a mandatory aging period until June 1st of the year following the harvest, after which they can be released onto the market.

If the label mentions 'Vigna' (Gewächs or Wachstum), followed by the name of a place, it refers to a specific vineyard area or a “micro zone”.
